The governing product idea
A tier is a substitution class: a set of players the ranking pool does not reliably distinguish.
That is why the Weekly Rankings board can preserve a rank order while still showing that two nearby players belong to the same practical decision class.
Confidence belongs on the surface
A player who sits near a tier boundary should not look as certain as a player whose placement is strongly supported. The board therefore reserves space for tier confidence, adjacent-tier probability, and stronger or fuzzier boundary treatments.

The 2026 launch board starts from a reconstructed team-strength baseline and incorporates the football information available through Week 1. From Week 2 forward, the sealed live system updates that view with opponent-aware and venue-aware game evidence.
The AP Top 25 and US LBM Coaches Poll are shown only as public comparison points. They do not determine the 135 ranking.
The production boundary remains strict:
Verified Published Rank → Normalized CFB Result Object → Immutable Snapshot → Website.
The browser does not consume or reconstruct protected upstream model states, scores, weights, parameters, calculations, workbook formulas, audit gates, or signing machinery.
What the website does not do
The public website does not create rankings, resolve canonical identity, select source rights, or alter 135 model artifacts. It is a downstream renderer for accepted result objects and immutable snapshots.
Development fixtures remain explicitly labeled and must never be interpreted as real recommendations. Authorized CFB production snapshots are distinguished by an explicit fixture: false contract and publication provenance.
Accountability over time
The intended publication model preserves the metadata necessary to identify each accepted snapshot. Canonical historical snapshots should remain inspectable rather than being silently overwritten.
